Photos from Ship Creek Valley - winter 2012. This is the start of the popular Arctic to Indian traverse. The access point for this valley is on the Arctic Valley Road. You ski DOWN nearly 2,000' to Ship Creek, in three miles. Then the "trail" goes 21 miles to Indian or 29 grueling, challenging miles to Bird Creek. I've done both trips; going to Indian (and the reverse) numerous times and to Bird once. I hope to do the Arctic to Bird this spring, as an overnight trip.
